I'm sure you could, but with a cut of meat like that, it's a shame not to grill it up.

If that's how you want to cook it, try layering some green peppers, onions and sliced garlic in the bottom. Add a little bit of liquid, like some white wine or stock. Season your steaks with some grill seasoning, or salt & pepper and place on top of veggies. I'd leave on low for maybe 6 hours or so. I'll totally admit I'm just pulling this out of my a**, but logically it should be really yummy :)

yes, you can season your steak both sides with salt pepper seasoned salt and garlic powder ( these are what i use, use what you prefer ) and i would cover the meat with either 2 small or 1 large can of brown mushroom gravy you can leave it in the crockpot on low for 8 hours while you are at work if you will be home cook at least 4 hours the longer it cooks the more tender it will be. if you like onions you can cook in the crockpot with the steak and gravy.serve this over either rice or noodles.also dinner rolls and a vegetable like green beans or if you prefer a nice green salad.enjoy!good luck.

meat's cooking time always depend on the amount of meat you're actually cooking. you need to follow the following :

for each 440 g ( or 1 lb) of meat to cook, allocate
- 20 mins for raw
- 25 mins for medium rare
- 30 mins for well done

having said that, I don't think the New York Strip is a suitable cut for a crockpot - if you cook it long it will lose all the juice and will become tough. If you can place your crockpot on the hob, add a table spoon of oil or butter, then you may want to try to warm it up a bit, add the meat to seal the juices, then place it under the grill for a few minutes until slightly brown.

Baked potatoe.. dont think there is any other way to have a steak. Bake, or boil a potato and let it rest. Slice it down the middle and take out the insides and place them into a bowl. In that bowl ad some yummy stuff.... whatever you like. I like cream cheese, bacon slices. Make a mush out of the insides and add the insides back into the potatoes, put some cheddar ontop and bake them to get a nice crust. Mash potatoes also works well (much less work involved) Scalloped potatoes also comes out nice. You will have to look up some recipes for this one though

My friend made a delicious Beef Bourgenion (spell?) with New York steak and cooked it in a Crock-Pot. The meat was so tender and plus simmering it in burgandy wine made it even better.

Although I do love a BBQ/Grilled New York. I was so surprised how good her meal turned out. I beleive she used Ina Garder's the Barefoot Contessa's recipe.

You can crock pot just about anything, but why take such a tasty piece of meat and cook all the goodness out of it?? I suggest you pan roast (pan fry and then into the oven @450F) or broiling it under your broiler........If you're lucky enough to have a grill, that's another way to go.....Keep the crock pot for something that is tough, like a chuck roast.......or chili, or stew.....

Why would you want to ruin a good piece of meat like that in a crock pot. You can broil it in less than 15 minutes unless you like shoe leather, in which case crock pot it to your heart's delight!
