Hi there. I think I can help. It's only the term "psychic" that they object to. If you called her gifted or having Charisms of the Spirit, they'd see it differently.
You see, the end result is all the same. It's just a matter of which spirit are the gifts coming from. The Holy Spirit? Or a demon.
I had the same problem. When I was a kid a priest chased me out of church. Said what I could do had no business in his church.
Later on in life, I started reading about Padre Pio. He's now called Saint Pio. St. Pio was highly gifted. That's when I learned my abilities DID belong in church.
Knowing traits about people can be called "reading souls" - that's the christian term. Seeing dead people is "discernment of spirits." Sometimes evil spirits too.
If you have a bible, or she does, here are some things to look up for clarification:
Isaiah - 11:2-3
1 Corinthians 12 (whole chapter is good)
on evil spirits
Mark 16:17
Matthew 10:1

Your Christian freinds are correct. Physics deal in the Occult. They could even deal with prophesy and there are no prophets listed in the Bible after Chist. You must remember the Devil appears as an angel when he wants to and roams the earth looking for victims. You are not dealing with anything heavenly if you feel you have an ability to delve into the occult which is what you are talking about. God is very very hard to hear. You need to be in prayer about something constantly and in a place that is away from others. The only way to determine the answer you believe you get is a Godly answer, is to place any answer you feel you have gotten up against Gods Laws. If it doesn't fit, you must get rit

She's not psychic, she's a good guesser. Just like Ray Lewis isn't psychic when he predicts the opposing team's play. He has an ability to accurately guess the outcome based on past experience, training, and/or natural talent.
No supernatural ability, just something beyond what you or she can understand, but nevertheless based in reality.

God all along did not like fortune tellers ,witchcraft , sorcery. Only God gave the power and word to certain people he could trust .That stopped when the bible was finished. Today Satan " the prince of the air of the world" , is roaming like a lion seeking who to devour , and disguising himself as an angel of light (God) deceiving people to fall away from the Lord .It's something they may have an ability at but where is that power comming from?

If she called upon Satan and his infernal demons for the ability, then it would be evil. If she just has the ability, it is neither good nor evil.
I've never met anyone with psychic abilities so I'm rather skeptical of them.

Spirituality is born from a personal occurrence with a divine, psychic or mystical experience of one form or another which inevitably connects a person to All that Is/God/Goddess/Allah/Great Spirit /whatever you want to call it.
Religion is second hand opinion of someone else’s divine experience. I think you will find that religions, and especially fanatical religions, tend to separate and divide people, while spirituality brings people together.
Thank God that Spirituality is on the increase!

In my opinion, being psychic is not evil. being psychic is a gift from God, it is how you use it that would make it evil or good, and your friend seems to be doing a good job of using it. Many people are afraid of what they don't understand, therefore, they give it a bad label without looking into it.

Frankly, to me both the psychic abilities and the christianity fall squarely in the domain of la la land.

Just tell your Christian friends she has been given the gift of prophesy from the Holy Spirit--their condemnation will turn to awe in a New York minute.--:]

This is not a bad thing. Pshycic abilities are a gift, not a curse. The Christ that all Christians claim to hold in the absolute highest esteem was very, very pshycic
