i want to surprise my girlfriend today. its not a holiday i just want to show her how much i love her. should i 1) get her jewelry. 2) a pair of boots(she loves shoes). 3) maybe buy her a nice purse. whatever ideas you guys have? i want her to come home from work and have a big smile on her face

Why do you have to buy her something? Why not suprise her with a candlelight dinner or something sweet like a night time picnic candle lit (if possible) with soft music and wine.....
But if you have to buy her something.....I'd go with boots and say that you seen them and thought of her. I wouldn't go with jewelry, ca use you wanna save that for more important celebrations and a purse is something women enjoy picking out, well I know Im kinda picky on my purses.

That's really nice. Well what is your budget. Everyday that you think about her when she is working count how many times you think of her. Everytime you think about her buy her, her favorite color rose. So if her favorite color is pink and you thought about her 12 times, get her 12 pink roses (just saying roses because those are the most romantic) For the Jewlery, not something off of the street! Go into kay jewlers or something like that. get her a neclace or a ring. Thats the best you can do. Or a braclet. Shoes, well spring IS coming up, why not some cute sandals, or something like that, But makesure you get a Female Sales associate to help! For purses, Again Spring is coming, so something bright, vibrant, or something like that, Not black or Dark blue. But the rose thing, Pricless!

I would say it depends if you want to go out or stay in:
You could tell her your taking her somwhere and its a suprise. Pick out a dress of hers that she could wear, get roses, maybe diamond earrings, and you could dress up and be waiting when she comes home, and you could take her to dinner somwhere really nice (get dessert to go)and when you come home you could eat your dessert on the floor and cuddle watching a movie.
Or you could make dinner(or try) and set up the table and have romantic music playing when she gets home, and then maybe you could go for a walk and give her a diamond necklace or earrings( or nothing, maybe a cute pair of shoes that you picked out would be nice, somthing that makes you think of her.
I definitly wouldnt go for the purse, thats more of a personal thing.
But i bet what ever you do itll be great and shell be suprised because you seem like youre really trying and you really love her.
But shell probably want to take a shower after work or take a long time to get ready so be patent and have fun.

No need for all of that. A girl will be happily suprised if you get her flowers or give her the money to buy herself something. Don't go out and get her jewelery, boots or a purse. These are things women like to go shopping for on their own !
Or if you live with her you could just do something nicer after you get home. Do the dishes, clean up the house including the bathroom and then cook. After you cook, set the table, serve her and then after you are done wash the dishes. Then you can call it a beautiful suprise for your girlfriend. :)

Ignore these other freaks! I don't know how your weather is but if it's hot, take a blanky and sit under a tree with her. Ask her to bring her nail kit, massage her feet then paint her nails. Even if you can't paint it properly just do it however. It's the sweetest thing ever! It won't even cost you a thing. With the little bit of money you have you can maybe buy snacks for her to nibble on while you are pampering her or some wine depending on your age and such.

I don't know why, but we love to have a dinner waiting with candles and the nice dishes... Or plan a date where everything is super mysterious and upbeat and fun. gifts are fun too. jewelry can become the standard and you may want to save that for really special times. It's almost sandal season (it is here in TX) so maybe not boots. hope this helps!

It's an old classic, but when I want to surprise my gal, I pick up some flowers and either take her to her favorite restaurant or pick up her favorite take out, so she doesn't have to cook. Save the jewelry for very special occasions or she'll get to used to it and not be so surprised when you do get her something. Really only you know what she appreciates most so do that.

Be NOT there! If she's so used to you being home on her arrival, then you being not there would certainly surprise her! Make sure to leave a note (e.g., gone fishing) just so she won't worry. Might even bring a big smile on her face! LOL

Gee i wish i had a boyfriend like you... any how i would say get her the boots.. but make it fun... take the new shoes out and put in an old pair she may have... My boyfriend did that to me once and i loved it! it will show her that you have a great imagination!!

I am with twin_sis and that train of thought.....Cleaning the house or making me dinner would make me SOOOOO much happier than having jewelry or shoes or a purse.
