Is she really young? She probably misses her mother and litter mates. Wrap a battery ran clock in a towel and place this by her when she sleeps. Don't isolate her. When she is awake keep a radio or the t.v. on nice and low if you have to leave or you don't have time to cuddle or play her. And by all means give her as much time and cuddling as you can. Most puppies appreciate a stuffed animal larger than themselves to snuggle with. If its constantly and she isn't eating well or gaining weight then she should immediately see the vet.

Don't give her any attention when she cries... Ultimately, that is what she wants...think about it...if she wants attention, she cries...even if you scold her, hey! that is still attention (good or bad, it is still attention!)
Pet and play with her only after she stops crying or if she is not crying. The moment she begins to whimper, walk away!! If you do this enough, she will make a connection: If I cry, no one pays attention, but if I am quiet, I get lots of love and attention!
Try it and see what happens!!
You have to have a lot of will power to leave her alone and be patient!!!

It is dog language & cannot be classed as being unhappy as is crying in human terms. Some dogs are more noisy than others. You can teach them to be quiet though. Get a soft cuddly toy & hold on to it while she plays with it. This is like a subsistute for another sibling & she will want to interact with it. Everytime she is noisy get her toy & play with her. This way she will learn to control her whining by getting her toy herself.

Get rid of the puppy. They grow up to be dogs. Dogs die before their parents, and the parents are the ones who end up doing all the crying. R.I.P Winnie-girl.

I would first take her to a vet in order to make sure she does not have a medical problem. I'm betting that petting and comforting her would only encourage the bad behavior. Also I would be curious if she was weaned properly. If not, then knowing the problem may help you to find the answer.

She is lonely, try putting a ticking alarm clock in her bed....sometimes this works. When our puppies were small and they cried spending extra time with them was essential, giving them toys and treats helps them too....if she is alone she is having separation anxiety...just love her she will come around! Good luck

if your crate training her and she's crying leave her alone. if she's a young puppy she might miss her litter mates or she might be scared. get her a hot water bottle to sleep with at night. the heat will give her comfort. remember to replace it before it get cold. hold her and talk to her. she'll calm down.
