i finally got asked out by this guy friend of mine that has been my friend since like kindergarten. i know that we have always been close and even closer the past two yrs basically since we got to high school. we're bothe juniors now and he picked now to ask me out! why would he do this now? does he have some kind of a motivation that i might have missed? why not earlier?

Geez, maybe he just now realized that what he's been looking for is right in front of him. Or maybe he's burned through all his other options and has finally gotten around to you. Either way, there's no ulterior motive, he's just asking you out cause he wants to go out with you. Why would you think there's a hidden motive?

Maybe he thought that this was the best time to ask you out. Going out a young age doesn't mean it would last forever, so maybe he wants something serious and wanted to wait till you guys were both older and mature to ask you out. Don't think too much, if you like him, enjoy the relationship!

I had a similar situation happen. After I dated this person for a while we discovered we were better friends than "partners". Don't read too much in to it. Go with the flow but if something isn't right, tell him you would rather be friends again. Good luck!

maybe now he completely matured and realizes he has honest feelings for you. He probably likes everything about you, whether it's your cute lil facial expressions or funny lil quirks

Don't be so suspicious. If you like him then say yes. Maybe he now realizes that he likes you more than just a friend.
