In January I got a ticket for public intoxication in Wal-Mart, even though I wasnt drunk. I guess thats beside the point since I got the ticket anyways, but I requested the wrong day off of work, so I couldnt go to court to get a payment plan or anything. Ive called and told the court that I cant afford $756 and the clerk basically said tough luck. I really don't want to get arrested, considering I still live with my parents, and they dont know about the ticket. How long does it take for you to get picked up on a warrant? What are my options?

One...call the state's attorney's office and speak with them. They may be able to work out a payment schedule for you.

Two...drunk or not, conduct yourself in public like a lady and not a two bit hooker.

Those two pieces of advice are the best you're going to get so heed them young lady.

Once the warrant is issued you may be arrested at any time or any location. I know of warrants that never made it into the system, when an officer was familiar with the person went directly to their home/work and arrested them, and the warrant was less than an hour old. On the other hand I know of warrants that are over 20 yrs old.
Get into the court as soon as you can and take care of it. You may still be required to post bond, so be prepared for that and have arrangements made.
