What are you thinking? Either hire a sitter for the baby or politely cancel the ever so important high school wrestling tournament gig. Ya know sometimes as a mom you will need to make really tough sacrifices. I hope CPS doesn't find out you intend to leave a baby for 8 hours locked in a room upstairs. There is something seriously wrong with you.

ok.. I was THE wrestling mom for 4 years!!! don't you have one of those???

are you one of those coaches that the parents just love????? If so.. problem solved.. Call that Team Mom.. your dilemma will b e solved by the next evening.

The other way.... what about the girls that keep score.. you use the same ones each week.. they have GOT to have friends that b/sit. Talk to one of your scorekeepers.

ALSO... your wrestlers!!! GIRLFRIENDS!!!!! OMG especially your varsity..... do you know how many of those girls are already thinking in terms of "happily ever after" As soon as your wrestlers let them know that Coach is looking for a B/sitter, you'll have so many hands in the air you'll have to interview... lol

Also.. your son is old enough that when he's awake you need to make it fun for him, and easier for you to NOT be looking over your shoulder. You need to be sure your "kid" has a bridge going on to avoid that near pin that's about to happen...... LOL

Make sure that son is dressed in team colors.. if you can gt an iron on of the team logo for the back of a Tshirt.. great.
we always had varsity in the stands while JV was on the mat, and vice versa.. if your son and sitter is right in the middle of that, it's great stress reliever for the guys. We actually had a poster up in front of the port-o-crib (gym bags stuffed under it to balance it against the bleachers.... lol) FUTURE STATE CHAMP and the name of the school.. go ahead and five him a weight class----- 189's or 171's you can even get gutsy and go heavyweight ..... LOL

Let the school and your team and their families help.. They will love the fact that you want to involve them.

Good Luck

No, don't leave your baby, even if its for 15 minutes. What you need to do is try and find someone who is old enough, and responsible enough to watch your son. It's never a good idea to leave a baby alone, for 8 hours. Not even if he is going to be locked. That's the worst part of all, to leave him locked in. Just try and find someone from school to watch over your son. Try and talk to students, and see who is available and responsible to watch your kid. There are always other alternatives than to leave a child alone for 8 hours.

No...I wouldn't leave him alone in a locked room for hours at a time, even if he's sleeping. You can't keep your eye on him. Maybe you could find a young girl that you know through the school that is going to be there to help you, or ask someone to go with you.

Or skip it all together, if you can't find someone to go with you or to leave him with. Honestly, there is no way to be able to coach a wrestling match and not keep from worrying about your son.

Sorry,
No. 8 hours is much to long for baby to go without supervision. Leaving any child in a locked room endangers them in case of medical emergency or fire. It prevents rescuers and you from getting to them quickly. In many states that would be considered child endangerment.
Get a sitter, ( chances are one or two of your wrestlers have girlfriends that would love to watch your baby) or pop the kid in stroller/snugli and take him with to the tournament but don't expect to leave him alone in a room in a public building.

You have got to be kidding. How could a responsible parent have such a thought. When he isn't asleep what do you suppose he will be doing in that locked room. That would be considered in most circles to be neglect. Most employers would not consider that appropriate and most responsible parents would not even have the nerve to ask such a question let alone consider actually doing it. Get a sitter or don't go to coach the match.

Can you have a another teacher watch him or someone that you trust? I would never leave a baby unattended and I think that would be child neglect and endangerment (what if the school caught on fire and you could not get up there) I would see if a neighbors, aunt, family member, friend would watch him.

I know you have got to be kidding. Are you CRAZY? You do not ever leave a child alone for any reason. What kind of father are you? You do not deserve to be a Father if you think your plan is a good idea.

If you feel comfortable with that choice he is your son you should have some type of monitor or camera so that you can see him I would be nervous. How old is your son? Is there noone that you are related to that can watch him?

Can you get a student to watch the baby? I know I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a baby alone.
