When you exercise your ripping your muscles. The tiny cracks in your muscle are repaired with proteins and increases their size. When you get sore its because your muscle is ripped and your trying to use it. When you go back to the gym to do the same exercise your muscle has gotten stronger and does not rip as easily. You'll want to increase your weight, or put more time between exercises. When your trying to build mass you want your muscle to rip, thats why guys use more weight less reps. Also taking a protein shake increases the level of protein in your body so it has more to repair muscle with, also Nitric Oxide promotes muscle tearing and Creatine promotes muscle to grow in size so it can take on more Protein when its repairing itself. Taking some of those supplements could help you out some if your trying to build muscle, but talk to your doctor first.

Your muscles are getting stronger. Exercising muscles breaks them down, causes tiny tears in the fibers. This causes the soreness as your body heals itself and becomes stronger.

When your muscles are sore from a work out they come back stronger when they heal, so you are getting stronger and used to the physical exertion.

Seems to me your muscles are getting accustomed to the workout. They need a constant challenge.
