hi everyone, i have a number of movies in avi format (700 MEGS)that i want to rip to DVD but using nero it takes on avg over 1..5 hrs is there a quicker way or programe to use. thanks

1.5 hours is not that bad to be honest

You can try and find another utility that converts avi to mpeg 2 (quicker) which nero then won't have to then retranscribe - but to be honest if it is 1.5 hours for a 1.5 hour film that is not bad

Get a faster computer.
Decode/encode is basically number crunching. Your CPU pretty much determines how fast you can do it.

do to www.download.com and type Winavi converter and once you have bthe software you can convert your files to dvd format so you can then burn it to a disk

its your system speed
it takes me that long on a 1.8 ghtz (cpu) with a 1 gb ram
