I want to purchase a vehicle in the US . what are the list of documents I might require from the seller..I know Change of ownership. what other papers do I need?

1. You need about 30,000 pieces of paper with George Washington's face on it.

The seller of the vehicle is the one who has to work harder in the transaction. They'll need to provide YOU with the title of the vehicle (if you're not financing), and a Bill of Sale.

All you have to do is show up with the money for him/her.

At the DMV they will ask you for the title, and the bill of sale. They will tell you how much your taxes are (payable at that time), and will give you a new tag.

Usually all you need is a drivers license and proof of insurance.

If you are looking for dealer financing, depending on your credit score, you may need a current pay stub of if self employed 2 years tax returns.

Also you may need references and proof of residence. A phone or utility bill would suffice.

From the dealership you will need a sales contract and bill of sale, and report of sale as temporary proof of registration.

You'll need first of all your license and proof of residence,
may be a check stub only if your about pay down payments on this vehicle and should be about it

The title signed, a receipt. That's it.
Do a carfax report though to make sure the car is OK, and the title is clear.
