i found out recently that im binded to some one year contract with at&t. i never asked for any discount packages, nor did i sign up for any benefits that can tie me down to a contract. when i spoke with a at&t rep. this morning, i got hung up on twice, and the last one plainly stated that i agreed to the contract when i paid my first bill. does anyone know a way to get out, its the principal of the matter. I NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING, NOR WAS I AWARE THAT I WAS GETTING MYSELF INTO A CONTRACT. DO I CALL FCC? AT&T IS GETTING OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have DSL. The 58 page disclosure that you have to click "I Agree" includes your contract.

There is no way to get out of it!

After having my phone service out for a month and getting the kind of customer service you received, I wanted out of my DSL contract so I could switch to MCI. They BARELY wanted to give me a credit for the lost time use I had for the phone!

Also, you can't reduce your service either. You have a bundled package, giving you the discounted DSL plan. If you change your home phone service, you will be hit with fees and higher prices for DSL.

I was so happy to leave them. File a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission in your state. That's what I did.

They are slowly becoming a monopoly again and they act like it. Thank goodness we have choices.
