I had a therapist who was not helping me at all! She kept hurting my feelings and I was doing worse while I was talking to her than when I wasn't. I finally left her. It hurt for a couple of days, but then I got over it.
After a couple of weeks, I found another therapist who is really more helpful. I don't always feel worse when I leave and she actually cares about me.
Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right therapist. Keep trying!

Exactly how much has therapy helped you, and how long have you been attending?
My personal views have made me an outcast in the psychological community, but as a licensed therapist, I believe that therapy in it's current forms is nothing but a big fat pile of horse crap.
You go to a therapist, talk about your problems. You pour your heart out to a complete stranger, whom just nods and makes notes. Then at the end of 1 hour, you leave feeling worse than you did when you went in, and they make $200.00 of your money into their own.
My suggestion to you, is instead of going and talking to a stranger about your problems, is to stand up to them, face them, and kick their asses. You can do it, anyone can.

Tell your therapist about your feelings so you can process them and make a fair decision about your future. Therapy is not a place of fun by the way. It is supposed to be a place to work on becoming more aware of yourself and learning how to access personal resources to get through life's problems. So being scared is normal. Allow yourself to trust your therapist and yourself more so you can grow inside.

Stay until you are 100% sure you need to leave.
Not just want to leave...that's different.
You are there for a reason after all.
Maybe take a week off if it's safe, but don't quit.

talk to your shrink about it, if he think you are ready to leave, give it a go. Perhaps you could reduce the frequency of your sessions till you feel more comfortable.
