Our world forgot God...this is the truth. Let's pray for our world to be better, to be near God. We all need His Love. May His blessings be with all the poor people!

Many, though not all, of the respondents on this site are Americans. And, Americans, after all, have become the wealthiest, most self-absorbed, and spoiled people on the planet. Thinking about the suffering their corporations and their government inflict on the poor in their own country and around the world is not something most Americans consider pleasant dinner conversation. If they ever took a good look at where all their prosperity came from, Americans would have to acknowledge their collective and individual culpability for all the horrors that their acquisition of poor peoples' and poor nations' resources around the world.

The real question in nation after nation is how long will the poor just sit there and take the abuse before standing up and shouting, ENOUGH!!

I don't harbor bad feelings towards poor people. On the contrary, I wish I was rich to help them, but I content myself with giving money to the homeless here in Germany. I hate seeing pictures of starving children, because I feel so useless that I can't send a million dollars to them. When I'm finished with college and have a job, I want to adopt a child from a poor country and one from America. I just want to help other people. It's sad that people are starving when we actually have enough food to feed everybody on this earth! The distribution of the food is causing the starvation problems.

I think that most people on this site probably don't feel that way. Don't let a few ruin it for you.
The problem with the negative people is they have the biggest mouths which is why they make everybody else look bad.
I've met rich and poor and let me tell you, there are bad and good in both classes.

I love the honest, working poor. It's the idle/lazy, complaining/entitled, dishonest/stealing poor with whom I have a problem.

Those who want something for nothing, who refuse to serve with all of their God-given faculties in grateful, happy, peaceful humility. Those who destroy families, marriages, and even employer relations (jobs/careers) without regard for the consequences to anyone, and then have the gall to expect everyone to fix their problems for them. Those who greedily spend on themselves now (i.e. alcohol/drugs, lottery, etc.) without regard to their own future financial strength and security.

Those are the people for whom I harbor bad feelings. And rightly so, to look down on those who refuse to look up or respect anyone or anything, including either themselves or their children or spouses/partners. The only unfortunate part is that innocent people are hurt by their foolishness, and that people like you feel responsible for them; it is NOT your fault and you can NOT change them, so stop putting yourself (and others) through the misery of lamenting our response to their irresponsibility.

But to the working, wise, respectful poor, out of whose ranks I myself am rising, I salute you and I respect you.

You can't say "majority" until you know for sure that the percentage is above 50. If not, you are just making up statistics.

But to answer your question: because they're too poor to afford the internet and computers!

It's necessary to "look down" on the unfortunate. You don't "look up" to them as if they are a source of inspiration. Why would you want to be unfortunate? That's nothing to strive for. You should "look down" on them and understand that you don't want to be downtrodden or unfortunate and do what can to avoid being like them.

Why do most people out here make these sweeping generalizations that only irritate people which in turn has the effect that their questions, valid or not, don't get answered but instead the querent is attacked for making said sweeping generalizations?

EDIT: Doesn't it freak you out when you find that you and another person have said almost exactly the same thing? lol

Jesus said whoever is least among you is the greatest- the poor aren't unfortunate they just have more karmic opportunities to grow spiritually.

The truly misfortunate are not looked down on but, I think there are some people who kind of are in a stew of their own making.
