Yes, all worship is a waste of time. But not because people can't be sure god exists...because it's pretty darn sure he *doesn't* exist.
Look, there ARE good things that come from religion, even though most adherents never live up to what they say they believe. Encouraging people to help each other, teaching to love your neighbors and enemies -- these are good human things to do whether or not you're religious.
But *worship?* First, there is no god. And even if there was, do you really think an omnipotent, all-knowing being who supposedly has power over every force in the universe needs you to bow down to him and worship him? If he did exist, his ego wouldn't be so fragile as to depend on the subservience of humans to feel superior. If all he wanted were a bunch of wimpy knee-bending yes-people who had to continually verbalize their adoration, he could easily have created beings that would do that all day, never question him, and not have minds to discover the evidence of his non-existence!
The good feelings, good teachings, etc. in religion I've always understood the pull of. But worship -- it's never made any sense. Any ultimate being wouldn't give a damn about whether his creation worshipped him or not.

No I do not agree. Worship is never a waste of time. For worship to be "real" though you must KNOW the one you worship. When you accept Christ as your Savior, you are reunited with the Father --- nothing between my soul and my Savior. Then you can worship in SPIRIT and in TRUTH. And you will know of a certainty that God not only "exists" but that He lives in you and you know Him intimately. Now THAT is true worship. Not only is it not a waste of time - it is the very atmosphere in which God exists....He inhabits the praises of His people. But you have to BE one of His people first - in salvation.

No, I do not agree. Have you ever worshiped God? Have you ever been so wrapped up in His Love in worship that you feel the presence of Him (the Holy Spirit)? I can be sure that my God exists b/c of his wonderful mercy and grace He has shown me.
It doesn't take any faith to believe in something you can see.
It does take faith however to believe in something you can't.
If you have never given God a chance then you really don't know what you are talking about. I'm sure that when you do He will let His Spirit fall on you.
BE BLESSED AND REJOICE IN THE LORD!

No. Actually to worship is the best way you can spend your time on earth. Our life on earth is a preparation for our next life. If we worship God now He will prepare a mansion for us in heaven. Worship is not a waste of time. It is the most important part of human life.

Usually people who worship God do believe in Him. Some people believe that God exists and feel confident about the fact. So, no, I disagree with you.

I disagree, reasoning being in the Bible which has many books and many different witnesses with all the same account of activities prove that God exist. And once we learn that their is a savior we learn that a door or connection can be opened from our hearts to him and there we can get guidance. All throughout time there has been talk of God and his son Satan so we know that God does exist, we also know that God reveals himself to chosen ones. He also tries to bring us closer to him, but if we keep running opposite or deny him then he eventually denies us.

Not all worship is a waste of time.. it does seem to have a very nice placebo effect for some people. Most is a waste of time, but not necessarily for your stated reason.

Absolutely not. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The knowledge of God is a feeling in your heart and in your mind that something is true or real. Have you never heard of some idea and said to yourself "yes, that sounds right, that makes sense to me". A testimony of God is like that. Christ said "if any many will do my will, he will know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of my self." In other words, you cannot know if you don't do as He directs. We feel love for each other by serving each other. This is the embodiment of the Gospel, to love one another and serve one another. When we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are only in the service of God for He uses us to help and lead and guide His children, our fellow beings.
I cannot imagine this intelligence that I call me, simply ceasing to exist at the end of my mortality. Rather, the spiritual me that inhabits this body will go on even after my flesh ceases to function. The love that I feel for my wife and children will not end. That love continues into our spiritual existence and if we have followed Christ's instructions, received His priesthood and performed the saving ordinances, we will be together in eternity as a family unit, a part of Christ's family and sealed clear back to Father Adam and Mothe Eve.

yup...
think about it, 8 hrs of sleep a night, is 1/3 a day, therefore u waste 1/3 of your life sleeping. 8 hrs of work a day, 5days a week, lets say 40 years of it, (52 weeks a year thats about 260 workdays a year).
now with what time you ahve left... lets say u spend 30 minutes a day, between prayer, and worship (give and take for church service). thats 3.5hrs a week, thats 182 hrs a year after 40 years thats 7280 hrs of your life dedicated to worshipping a being that might not even be there. (approximately 303 1/3 days, of straight worship that could have been dedicated to feeding hungry, helping the homeless, doing good for mankind)
