It depends what kind of gray it is. A bluish gray needs cool colors. With a neutral gray, and that neutral beechwood furniture, you'd have a lot of freedom in choosing colors.

Suisse Mocha Coffee. It's light, but not bright... like coffee with A LOT of cream in it. would look gorgeous...

A cream colored paint would look great! Then, you could accent with bright color (pillows, etc) wherever you'd like.
