He's playing. It is not mean, or aggressive, if that's what you are asking, but you must stop him from doing this, because it is an annoying habit when they are older. Don't respond to that, withdraw when he does it, show him that this is not a way to attract your attention or playfulness. don't hit him or shout to him though, because then he thinks the game is on and he does it more and more!

Many dog breeds have differing reasons for the reason why they bite. Beagles, for example, inexpicably chew on just about any rope-like object (like shoelaces) for about their first year, and then stop.

Your puppy is past the point where she is likely teething or testing her mouth, so her attitude is likely the culprit. The good news is, it is easy to stop. She is most likely attempting, like all pack animals, to figure out her place in the herd. If you firmly say "No," and push her away, she will learn that this is not a good behavior, and you are in control. It is important that you correct her in the act, or else all those "No's" will just be so much babbling to her.

Lots of puppies bite, this is not a good thing to let happen as they are testing their pack relationship with you and if you let it continue you will have a dog that thinks it is the leader for life...get a spray bottle and spray water while saying no everytime she does this

Yes, it's bad! It will escalate into rips and everything you own is ruined! You have to teach it to do what you want it to when it's misbehaving! I don't look at mine when he's doing this and put him in the kennel or crate. I leave him there for about five minutes. His attention is usually diverted when I remove him. If not, back he goes!

Two things - she wants attention from you or she wants to play.
my Bison use to do it all the time. Started paying more attention to her and she out grew it at 6 months. Animals need love to.
