should all immigrints wanting to live in the uk undergo a lie detector test to see what their intentions of working really are?because it seems to me that 80% of these people are only here to sponge off the state in benefits etc...

Bravo!
You have the right Idea. They should have to endure a polygraph test to prove their true intent. And the polygraph should be a fee charged to the person applying for citizenship, so no additional cost are accrued by the Government to which they are applying for citizenship to.

A lie detector test, no, a means test, definitely!
If you can't suuport yourself or don't want to work then leave, simple.
It might help if the government let the so called asylum seekers work. The majority of them aren't allowed to work for 3 years and if that was the case, would you want to after 3 years of being paid for nothing?
I've actually asked asylum seekers why they have gone through several countires to get to the uk. The answer? 'Because they give me everything I want'
And we wonder why this country has a pensions and Nhs crisis? amongst other things. Maybe if we didn't hand out our hard earned tax to the rest of the world there would be more for the people that actually paid into the pot!
I'm personally sick of it and the sooner I can (legitimately) get into Australia (as an immigrant paying my own way) the better!

When a legal immigrant comes into this country they get a stamp in their passport that EXCLUDES them from any state aid or benifites.
My grandfather was sent abroard to fight a war in the name of the Queen and whilst there married and had my father who was registered British and carried a British passport. Yet when I came to Britain I was stamped like all immigrants and asked about where I was going to work etc, even though I had bought a house some years before and I had over £100,000 in my bank.

Sandwich is correct look at the serial mothers and their boyfreind to where the money is going. School dinners cost a fortune, yet we complain our children are too fat. Let their parents feed them.

Oh and when my parents could not look after themselves they lived with me,I did not ask the state for a penny.

I have now been here for 30 years and never claimed a penny from the state and having 1 daughter who still lives in another country, I have not claimed for that either though I paid for her schooling in that country and now pay for her sons schooling.
I have not claimed anything from the NHS as yet and neither has my wife.
In two years time after the two of us having paid into the system for 30 years,we will get around £60 pension. That is because this govt. has spent my money that I have paid in to look after the won't work brigade that have never paid into the system.

Why not say that ANYONE who has not paid for 5 years cannot claim.
Ask the 9 million local people that are on benifites to go to work and there would be no jobs for immigrants and they will not come. Never trust anyone that blames others for their misfortune.

Yes they should be tested in some way like in Australia or are the government treating all asylum seekers with kids gloves because it's a race/ human rights issue? When one is allowed asylum it usually gives them the green light for them to bring the rest of the family over too. And how much did these asylum seekers had to pay to get someone to "send" them over here and how did they hide themselves? And if they are genuine asylum seekers why isn't it the first safest state or country they sought asylum and not travel half way around the world to better off nations?

I think that 80% of people on benefits in the UK are chavs and pramfaces born and bred in the UK, you know the ones that pop a chavvie out to get a council place at 13 and then add another 15 kids to the equation to get 150 quid every week to spend on cigs and ale, the ones that if they see a book they use it as toilet paper and can't spell their own name. I don't see them scrubbing toilets nationwide, or working at supermarkets checkouts: they're too good for that, they can get paid to breed a load of thugs on the streets. It's always the immigrants that do the dirty jobs, and get insulted for the privilege.

If you had to work for 5 years in total, registered through the NI scheme before recieving ANY benefits, you would need £2-3k to move here and get started and a 'back' for good toil, this would discourage laziness and stop freeloading and deter that type of person from coming here....everyones' happy!

I am an immigrant symphathiser and yes there are some damn lazy immigrants but there are also damn lazy English people and American people.
I'm not so against your question as others as as well as making a stupid remark you have also suggested a solution.

How about this for the first 2 years legal immigrants are not allowed to claim any state benefits...no idea how this would be supported its just an idea.

Illegal immigrants actually work for their money becaue they have no choice...no Bank account, no social security, unable to show their ID. so i'm not quite sure how they can be called spongers.

No forget lie detector test just don't let anymore in and I also think that if any immigrants already here commit a crime they should be deported back to their country as soon as they finish their sentence with no appeal allowed.

I do not understand why you would want to leave your country or all your family and roots, unless you had problems or wanted to to so to make a better life for yourself, people tend to do things for reasons, not just to piss others off, where ever you go you get good and bad, give the benefit of the doubt and live your own life before you judge others, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

To be allowed to enter this country as an immigrant they should at least know someone already residing here, they should be able to speak the Queens English and have at least £3,000 to keep them until they find a job only the main breadwinner should get entry and when he can prove he has gained employment his family would be allowed to join him.
Other than that there should be Government centres, meals would be provided and vouchers for sundries totalling £5.00 pppw where they would stay until they find employment, that way if they haven't found employment in 4 months they would be deported back to their own country.
If we turned up in a country with no visible means of support we would be turned away.

The only way to cure social welfare tourism is to disqualify all immigrants from state payments. If that happens, it would also be necessary to permit them other means of earning a living, a route many are prevented from taking at present. However, I would not like it on my conscience that some deserving cases would starve just to stop the people who abuse the system. By the same token, there are plenty home grown spongers too.
