The European Union is one of America's biggest trading partners. Probably only eclipsed by China. You better hope that Europe isn't in decline otherwise you'll have nowhere to sell your cheap but low quality crap. There is a reason why American cars are hardly seen in Europe and that is because Japanese, French and German cars are so much cheaper and yet more reliable. Ford is going bankrupt and GM just make junk that breaks down too easily. Also, if Europe is a declining power how is that the majority of soldiers in Afghanistan are European? British, Dutch, Danish and Norweigan soldiers are dying everyday for your War of Terror. There is no reason for the EU to have soldiers in Afghanistan but we are there to cover your back.

Does the growing strength of the Euro and weakening of the Dollar an indication of declining European power, or should it be the other way around?.

I'd like to know how you figured out that Europe is on the decline.

The ACTUAL purpose of the EU is to have unrestricted trade between member states.

Europe has no will and blindly follows the policies that produce the most money.

Look at how they loaned Saddam money, sold him weapons and even designed his sarin gas factories. Then they opposed the Iraq war because they were concerned about their outstanding loans to Saddam and their lucrative oil contracts.
