see your doctor and make sure there isn't a medical problem. Remember the woman that had a 90 pound tumor?

If you don't have some medical problem do what most good diet programs require you to do. get a notebook and write down everything you eat, when, how much, every single thing, gum, water, lasagna, ice cream, everything. Keep it for at least one week, two weeks are better. then lay it all out on a spreadsheet like Excel, days across the bottom, times up the side.

You will now see exactly what you're eating, when, how much, etc. You'll be surprised at what you're eating, and the quantities. Seeing it will help you change your eating habits and food choices all by itself.

Go to bed earlier. If you wake up at 6AM and go to bed at 11PM or midnight your body needs one extra meal, and one extra snack. By going to bed an hour earlier, BEFORE you get hungry, you eliminate 5 or 600 calories, probably junk food, fat calories because face it, you're going to choose chips or ice cream, or microwave popcorn instead of a salad!!!

If you're SERIOUS about it, you need to make lifestyle changes. Take a nutrition class. Find out what portion size really means. Like, that can of soup is really 2 servings and is actually 400 calories. The Snickers bar (the GIANT one?) is 3 servings, and about 900 calories.

Community College, or even on line. This will show you what the food you eat does and give you insight on how to do meal planning.

If you're a couch potato, find a friend and go for a walk, everyday, at the same time for 30 minutes AFTER YOU START TO SWEAT.

Whenever you're hungry drink a glass of water and wait 10 minutes before you eat. When you DO eat, SLOW DOWN. It takes your brain 20 minutes to find out what your stomach has in it.

Good luck.

Unfortunatly, the only real "diet" that will work is eating right and excercising. I know, not the answer you want. I truly believe if you stick with any diet (Weight Watcher, Atkins, etc) and are truly faithful to it, it will work. But if you're like me and everyone else - at some point, you give up because you aren't getting the results you want. Look into the Weight Watchers Core Program - it's not as limited as others and it was the only thing that gave me lasting results. Stick with it - for a long time and dont' cheat. Good luck.

I know a lot of people who think they are dieting correctly, but they don't watch their calorie intake, they only watch fat grams, and this is a big mistake.

Seemingly healthy foods have tons of calories in them, even things like crackers.

Google "calorie calculator" and type in your height and weight, and you'll be able to find out how many calories you need to consume a day to lose a healthy 1-2 pounds per week.

It seems like a lot of work, and it can be difficult at times, but it's worth it.

Do you watch your portions? Eat smaller, more frequent meals and replace snacks with fruits and veggies.

What diets were you trying? Fad diets don't work, nor do diet pills. Making a lifestyle change does work. Ditch the soda, drink water, get the 100-calorie packs and overal just be healthy.

You also HAVE you work out. You cannot lose weight if you don't workout. I use home DVDs and alternate between cardio kickboxing and pilates, and it has worked for me.

You should check out sparkpeople.com it is a free dieting web site. My friend and I both love it and we each have lost around twenty some pounds. You have to enter in everything you eat every day. It takes a little time but it is worth it. It makes you aware of how much fats, calories, carbs are in the foods we eat everyday. It will also track it for you daily. It will give you a range of each you need to stay in between to lose weight. And it also gives you exercises you can do at home. Just stay motivated Good luck!

I have tried many diets in the past too. I finally realized that it was all about LIFESTYLE rather than dieting. You need to change you lifestyle eating habits and the reason why you haven't done so already is because you link more pain with dieting than pleasure. It is important that you link pleasure with regular excersize, eating and feeling healthy. Remmber this "No food will ever taste as good as being healthy feels".

talk to your doctor and ask if they'd be willing to prescribe you an appetite suppressant. also, if you haven't yet looked into therapy, id suggest you seek out the help of a professional. You may be an emotional eater who uses food to numb the stress and pain in your life.

Hope this helps in some way. Best wishes.
