if you already have a six pack, i'm going to assume that you already have little or no fat in your mid section. cardio is mainly used to get rid of the fat so that your ab muscles will show. since it seems that you are already there and simply need to increase your definition. you need to do intense ab exercises, like incline and weighted sit-ups (in various positions).

You have to lose body fat. Losing body fat can be or should be done in several different ways. The more weight resistance you do will build muscle which will burn body fat when you're not working out. Cardio will help burn body fat but you need to burn a lot of calories to burn that fat off.
One pound of fat equals about 3500 calories. When you do cardio on a treadmill, look at how many calories you've burned during your workout. My goal is to burn >750 calories per workout per day. You'll need a proper weight workout, a proper cardio workout AND a proper diet.

you have to reduce body fat. The abs are there, just covered with a layer of fat. You need to get down to about 10 - 12%
