This is one of the more valid questions I have seen under religion recently for starters, and I would guess Great Pumpkin Worship would at least get cult status as at least Linus believes in it and that makes it a set of beliefs. That being said I think despite the validation he is still wasting his nights because the pumkin is not coming

Ultimately yes, he is wasting his Halloween nights but as far as the Great Pumpkin is concerned GPism is as valid as any other religion.

There is no blasphemy of the Great Pumpkin allowed here!!
Linus is the one TRUE believer.. and his reward will be great!

I am considering changing my religious beliefs to "Jedi." Makes as much sense as Great Pumpkinism and Christianity to me.

If it is, don't tell the Flying Spagettie Monster. It will cause a great spiritual battle and might create Flying Spagetti terrorists.

To date in the Peanut cartoons, it has always been implied that Linus was wasting his time. (With Schultz gone, it is unlikely that will change in the future).

Well, you need to prove that the Great Pumpkin doesn't exist.

Isn't it obvious, just by looking around you, that he does?
