I'm trying to eat right to gain muscle. I want to eat things that contain high calories and protein, but good calories with low fat. Any ideas on stuff to snack on during the day??

There are couple things you can do. Eat meat or food that have high protein (fish, chicken, and eggs).
Vitamins that help you to maintain that energy level. Royal Jelly. You are going to sweat a lot during work out. Royal Jelly will help you to build up you energy. Start off with low dose of Royal Jelly like 500mg slowly build up in a month or two to 1000mg.
Beside the pasta and protein meat, you still need to BALANCE your diet. Vegetable with good carbs.

No pain, no gain.

Cheers!

Hey man im doing the same thing as you are. Trynna gain weight too. Well I go the gym and when I go home I eat pasta, brocollies, rice, salmon(fishes are very good for you!), lots of meat, chicken. I force my self to eat veggies too so I will get energy when I work out. Eggs are also good... Those r my meals for the mean time. I've been working out for 2months now and Ive gaines 8pounds of muscle. pretty good right? Try it u will probably gain weight too.

Protein bars as said before. I myself love the Met RX bars. You can also eat cooked chicken strips without the skin, all kinds of nuts (they have unsaturated fat - the good kind - and they are good for you heart). Fish is an awesome source of protein, just don't fry it. Egg whites are pure protein and generally, fat free cream cheese is made of the whites. You can "fry" egg whites, fish, chicken, or with oil spray in a skillet. you can also use olive or canola oil, which have the least amount of saturated fat in them.
