Go to the library and borrow the exercise tapes, then you are not stuck with ones you don't like anyway. There is no charge to rent them at the library.

So you have any free weights around the house? Even the small ones your mom used to use for aerobics will do. Then check out the book The Body Sculpting Bible for Women, it is chock full of exercises for toning muscle and it even has a healthy diet plan. There are also books for Yoga and Pilates (but you have to buy eqipment to do a full Pilates workout)
If your school has a track that is clear of snow then put on your sweats and go for a jog. Or hit the YMCA and swim laps. Or get yourself a (single) DVD like hip-hop aerobics or the like. Or take up jump rope. You need to get a cardio workout too.
You don't need to spend a ton and you don't need a lot of fancy equipment. The book and DVD will run you about thirty dollars all told. Any equipment you need to buy will be a little extra, but not that expensive if you stick to the basics (hey, maybe your dad or any brothers you have would be interested in working with free weights too and help you pay for it. Even then you only need one or two sets (I'd recomend a 3 and a 5 pound suit to start.) You can get more as your budget and strength allow for it.)
Hope this helps

Here's what I do. I get up at 5:00 am, and put on my heavy coat and hat, and my ipod, and then I Walk up and down my neighborhood streets- 2 miles. It only takes 35-40 min, and it makes you feel really good. By the end of the first 1/2 mile, you will get warm, and have to lose some of the layers. Plus there is no-one else out there to bother you, see you , or mess with you. Except the paper lady, who always waves to me, and I too her. Happy times getting skinny!!!!!! And good luck with softball.

The best way is to get excercise tapes/DVDs if you're short on cash. Believe it or not, you probably can afford them if you get them used on amazon.com. I'm not exactly rich myself, and I bought one DVD per paycheck for about 4 bucks, and now I have a nice little collection, and I've managed to keep the winter weight off.
If this really, truly is not an option for you, I would suggest just doing sit-ups and push-ups, leg squats and lunged with soup cans to get your cardio up. Jumping jacks with soups cans can get your heart rate up as well, but you'll have to do a ton of them, which is why I would invest in some DVDs. Trust me ... 4 bucks is well-worth it.

Presumably you are still going to school. Are there no winter sports? Do you lay around and play video games during phys. ed.? Can you stay after school to workout on their equipment and take the late sports bus home?
