You have sooooo many options available to you. First I want give you a great big Congrats! on the getting over your cutting. You should be proud of yourself. As far as the tattoo goes you are going to want to get something that meaningful to you. Maybe instead of covering your scars with something to make you forget they are there think into yourself and find what helped you get over problem or if you dont want something that is "happy" you can get something to represent the dark times that you went through. I had a friend that used to cut her upper leg and she had horrible scars from it. She called her addiction to the cutting her "dragon". When she was able to stop she more or less coverd her scars with a dragon as a representation of where she has been and where she is now. By tattooing it on her skin she felt like she had finally slayed her beast of burden. Think about if you want color, or black and then talk to a great tattoo artist. If you go in with a picture you will need to be flexable. Some of your scars may not be coveralbe because of the scar tissue (this of coarse will depend on how bad they really are). The tattoo artist will most likely take a look see where he can and can not tattoo and create you a design to go around the areas he can not work on while drawing your eyes to the spots he can (camoflage the scars). If you have any ideas I would be more than happy to help you find something that will work for you but in my opinion you are going to want to take lots of pictures with you (of an idea) and let the artist create something for you that will be yours and yours alone. Again, Congrats! and if you would like help, feel free to contact me. Enjoy your Ink!

A) You should never let someone else tell you what to tattoo on yourself. You choose.

B) Scars are sometimes difficult to tattoo over.

Visit your local tattoo shop for advice about tattooing scars and some ideas about what you would like.

This is something you need to decide for yourself, after all, its going to be on your body and you have to be pleased with it. Go to a parlor and check out the drawings, believe me, its hard to pick just one. Enjoy !!

Congrats on over coming something like that. Flowers are always nice, maybe with a fairy smelling one of the flowers.
