1. Does punctuation go on the inside or the outside of brackets?
eg which is correct?
A- My car needs a new wishbone (part of the suspension).
B- My car needs a new wishbone (part of the suspension.)

2. When you are meaning "as well" do you use "to" or "too"
eg
A- I checked my brakes, which was a good job to, since I found they were faulty.
B- I checked my brakes, which was a good job too, since I found they were faulty.

nb This isn't homework, just something I've been thinking about.

Actually, for the first question it depends on which type of formatting you are using - MLA or APA. If you are using MLA formatting then the answer would be all punctuation inside the parenthesis. The second question the answer is the same no matter what - you would use TOO, because that means also, to is the opposite of from. I hope this clears it up for you.

Answer to #1 is A
When brackets come at the end of the sentence, the period/question mark goes on the outside of the bracket.
If it's a quotation mark at the end of the sentence, the period goes before the quotation marks ie He said "Whatever."

Answer to #2 is B
when you want it to mean "as well" use too

Question 1 - Punctuation goes outside of brackets in the example you gave. However, the brackets may contain their own punctuation as well. For example, He asks such silly questions (i.e., "How high is the sky?").

Question 2 - "too" is the correct substitution for "as well" and "also."
