All worship is pointless because gods do not exist.
THAT is something with which I agree.
By the way, I know "with which I agree" seems like odd wording, but sometimes I go to great lengths to make sure that I don't end sentences with prepositions.

Actually no. Prayer can be very useful.
It has been scientifically proven that prayer stimulates the production of certain chemicals in the brain that relieve stress and promote overall wellness. I don't believe in God, but I see nothing wrong with praying. Besides, just because you can't prove God's existence, doesn't mean I can disprove it.
Solafide55 and yanya...you are idiots. I won't even bother talking about Pascal's Wager (its flawed). I will however talk about what you said yanya. Just because I can't disprove God, doesn't qualify as proof. It's actually more logical to assume the opposite. If you can't prove God does exist, then he doesn't. Luckily for you, I'm agnostic. I believe you can't prove it one way or the other.

I believe that whatever helps you sleep at night and exist in life is the business of a person and them alone. The fact that people go on these Religion and Spirituality sectors and try to pick fights with the obviously Religious peoples is sad and pathetic. However, if you believe in no one then that is your opinion and yours alone. I however believe in the Goddess and her male counterpart the The Green Man...and it makes me happy to have what I believe in and I'm pretty sure that THAT is all that matters.

yup...
think about it, 8 hrs of sleep a night, is 1/3 a day, therefore u waste 1/3 of your life sleeping. 8 hrs of work a day, 5days a week, lets say 40 years of it, (52 weeks a year thats about 260 workdays a year).
now with what time you ahve left... lets say u spend 30 minutes a day, between prayer, and worship (give and take for church service). thats 3.5hrs a week, thats 182 hrs a year after 40 years thats 7280 hrs of your life dedicated to worshipping a being that might not even be there. (approximately 303 1/3 days, of straight worship that could have been dedicated to feeding hungry, helping the homeless, doing good for mankind)

I don't agree. I don't believe in a god or anything supernatural. However, I do believe that some people, who may be a bit irrational, need something to believe in. Worship in these cases can give them a calm feeling since the truth may be devastating.

Please see Pascal's Wager.
If it was a poker hand I'd go all in on God and hope I didn't get beat on the river.
However, if I did get beat on the river I still would have a chance to play again.
If you go all in on no God and lose on the river then you never get a chance to play again.
Not a perfect analogy I know, but it gets to the point.

The existance of God cannot be proved. But the same thing applies to UFO's, their existance cannot be proved. But the fact that something cannot be proved, doesn't mean that it does not exist.
