What peanut scare? I've been using peanut butter a lot lately and have no problems with it. Brands I've been using: Western Family, Presidents Choice, Mother Parkers, Family Pride! I'm in Canada.. maybe we just didn't get the bad peanut butter!

If you are concerned at all, I would turn the stuff in.
However, I have a friend who made cookies with the peanut butter from lot 2111 (the affected lot) and she had no ill effects whatsoever. She states that as long as the ingredient is cooked, the salmonella can't hurt you. This sounds right to me.

If you had one of the jars from the recall I wouldn't use it. You can return it and get another jar free, so no worries. If you don't then don't be afraid.
Plus, if you are cooking and heat it over 145 degrees then the salmonella dies off. That is why we need to cook chicken and so on. If you are not heating it, then it's the same as eating it out of the jar.

Just avoid the brands that may make you sick; I believe that is Con agra, and walmart brand. My family lives off peanut butter. We eat it every day. But we tend to eat the natural kind.It hasn't made us sick.
