which when you fill that out it will tell you she is perfectly healthy. just make sure she stays active, maybe have the friends take a dance class together or something that way she doesn't have to worry about gettting a weight problem

She might be a few pounds over what the ada have standards set for but that doesn't factor in what is muscle and what is actual fat. If your daughter is very athletic she will probably weigh a little more just because of muscle tone. I wouldn't worry about it much. She could also be going through a growth spurt, which would mean that she puts on weight and then she will grow taller.

If you start her dieting now it will be a lifelong battle and she may end up a lot worse than when she started out. Make sure she gets lots of physical activity in her day. Also, switch white bread to whole grain in your household, that flushes a lot of calories out of the system. If you practice good eating habits in your home, without making it all about her weight, the pounds will come off. She may also be more muscular than her friend and muscle weighs more than fat. If she looks great and feels good let her be and tell her how proud you are of her and how perfect she is. Love is the best medicine.

That not over weight at all, i have no idea why the Doctor said she could loose a few pounds, and just like everyone said, that's healthy.

She sounds just fine. Let her stay the same. Even if she does happen to have a couple extra pounds, she'll grow into them. Don't worry. Don't make her go on a crash diet, they're horrible for your body. But eliminating junk food and candy, soda, etc and replacing it with healthier alternatives is always a good idea.

I don't think she is quite skinny, but she is not really overweight. Her BMI is around 23, that is high average. Her doctor may be seeing a trend in her weight and is concerned she is on a path to being overweight. It is a lot easier not to get overweight than it is to loose it.

I am 5'2'' 131lbs and no that is not fat, it's healthy. Anyone telling your daughter she needs to loose weight needs to re analyze the entire situation.

I'm about twice her age, 5'4" 110lbs. I think your daughter can lose some weight. When I checked it before, it was around 140lbs to be considered overweight for a person who is 5'3" - 5'4" for an adult. She's only 15...so she should weigh a lot less.

I have heard of teenagers obsessing over their weight, but when their mothers start obsessing as well... I see dysfunction.

Lighten up. Your obsession is sending a bad vibe and the wrong message to your daughter.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! If she looks healthy, and she's comfortable then she's good! I checked her BMI (body mass index) on Seventeen.com's health web page and it's 23.025 which shows she's in her healthy weight range.
