dieting alone doesn't always work. Plus with your diet you were likely not eating enough which makes you gain or atleast not lose.
Eat chicken and fish for meat- you need to protein.
Veggies- the green ones are the best.
fruits are good but in portion- oranges, tangerines, pears are the best ones.
There's energy bars that are good for dieting.
If you run or speed walk for half an hour a day that will help and eventually try getting to being active for more and more each day. at first your body will ache but give it some time and you'll actually feel really good after it.
Also just elminating juice, soda, alcohol, etc will do a lot!
water is your best choice. try adding lemon or orange slices to it to give it some flavour.
also try to stay away from bread. a lot of people are allergic to it without even knowing which can cause the weight issues.
I hope this help and best of luck with your diet!
I'm also starting a diet next week and exercising!
I'm almost 20 and I'm in the same weight range as you. It's not fun!
OH! and I just bought these drinks called "Fuze" and they're suppose to be good to suppress cravings, etc!

diet plans are designed to keep fat people fat and keep money rolling in to the makers, as long as they make everyone beleive you have to be stick thin and diet pills, diet food, magic diets are the only way. Well get away from the diets right now, stay away from fast food and junk. Get up and move for 30 minutes a day at least. Throw your scales out the back door. Dont get down on yourself, you should be proud that you realize you need to change for the sake of your health. Nobody is perfect so dont feel bad if you eat a twinkie or sit around all day. It is the over all change that will help you not the little treats you give yourself. Just start a new day everyday with a clean slate and strive to eat better, get a good workout, and have a positive outlook on your life. I hope that helped, I wish all the luck to you.

You can do it, and live lean---it's very simple at your age, because your metabolism is very high. You are at a great starting point.
1. Get rid of carbohydrates in your diet---eat the minimum possible of these, and only early in the A.M. if you must.
Know exactly what is and what is NOT a carbohydrate, and look at the labels of "diet food" drinks, etc.----they are mostly carbs, and they won't help you.
2. Do not travel by CAR! It's the most important weight-loss rule.
Walk to the bus stop, walk walk walk to wherever you need to go. Use every excuse to walk every day. Americans are mainly obese now because they will not take a step out of their cars.
3. "Weight Watchers" is well worth joining for a time because of the simple methods they teach you to organize your food and plan your meals---they have lots of easy ideas that you can keep using for a lifetime of food management.
4. Look at the website (there is one) that tells you ideal healthy weight for your height and sex. Put this up as your basic goal first, so that you will have a reasonable idea of where you're going.
5. Keep your scale handy and weigh yourself every day.

Get vain, start thinking and believing that you are pretty and then do things to re-affirm it.
Tell yourself that people who can't see your beauty aren't worth your time, and cut out all unsolicited comments about your weight.
People tend to make any conversation about weight a negative one and you don't need that.
Start dressing up every time you leave home, hair, clothes make-up (if you wear it) should always be at your best.
And most importantly start moving, walking, running or discover a sport that you like so the competition or your technic distracts you from the fact that you are excercising to lose weight.
Dance classes, tennis and my favourite aqua areobics are great fun but really good forms of exercise. I'm sure your school has sport teams join one, I'd avoid the gym because gyms tend to re-enforce bad stereotypes and it is easy to become frustrated and quit...
And if you slack off one day, week, month or months, just dust yourself off and start back.
Good Luck.

Sweetie, diets do not work. I hate that word, always have. It is a lifestyle change. One step at a time. Start getting more active, portion control, no eating late at night, water. Don't wake up and say I'm tired of being fat and starve yourself for the day and then binge the next. You have to eat, breakfast is the most important meal. Is it ok to have a piece of chocolate, yep, but not the whole box. Speaking all from experience. I can't tell you how important drinking water is as well. Water helps metabolise fate. Keeps all of your organs working properly, again one step at a time. There is no magic pill.

Lay off the twinkies dude. Seriously, get your parents to take you to the dr. You could have a glandular problem and at the very least he can get you on a good low carb diet. Good Luck brother.

in my experience - weight watchers is the best program to try.the points system they use to do was the best...look them up in the phone book, and go to a meeting - the first one is free, and they can explain how it works.it teaches you moderation and how to cut corners...it works best if you continue to attend the meetings until you reach your goal - its not that expensive usually $11 a week or so,which is the equivalent to the gym membership you know you wont use. after you get started, and get excited and can stick to something - i would suggest a gym, especially so you dont get the flab's - if you are a female, curves gym is wonderful.good luck,it is a hard won battle - but worth it.

Exercise! Raise your metabolism by exercising and building muscle. The more muscle you build the more calories your body will burn when resting. Good luck!
