You can't, not legally. And because of all the piracy of their products, MS has built some strong anti-piracy measures into Vista. They have what is essentially a kill switch called Reduced Functionality Mode. Reduced Functionality Mode deletes your wallpaper, desktop icons and start menu, and won't let you do anything but connect to their site and enter a legal serial number or purchase a legal copy. Vista goes into this mode if it is activated with a code that's not legitimate, and MS is monitoring cracking sites and keeping track of which codes are cracked and adding them to the database of illegal activations. So even if you use it for a while, one day you'll turn on your computer and it will be in Reduced Functionality Mode and you won't be able to use it or get your data.

Nothing on this planet is available for free. You have to pay also for the air you breathe. Forget about the idea of free Vista. If you are keen on giving your existing WinXP a Vista Look, then search the Google for "Vista Transformation Pack Final Ver.6" and download it from an authentic site. Install the program like any other software and enjoy Vista looks. I have tried it and it works fine. You can uninstall the same again if you dont like it through "Add Remove" option. REMEMBER to read every little instruction while installing this software or else you might face problems with your operating system later. This program modifies the system files and hence due caution must be taken. Keep your WinXP CD/DVD ready if needed. Do not worry just go on and you will like this new interface.

Nothing is available FREE in this world, even the pirated copies cost something less on the pocket. Downloading a pirated copy from some sites will cost you more then the cost of a pirated version available in the market on DVD, So buy original and enjoy its advantages
