And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25 NAB)
Anyone who says he has answered every one them is a liar, I have known hundreds of christians, even was one at one stage and I know what you guys pray for.

I don't pray.
God does not exist.

Because when you ask God for something: a favor or item, you need to believe that God actually has the power to do this thing. Many people will ask God to heal their sick hamster, and believe that even though they pray, God will not answer their prayer, and their hamster will die. Can you see how this would make God angry and sad? This is what we call faith. If we have none, and don't believe that God really exists, then God might not want to answer. But don't get me wrong! God loves you so much with a passion that you have never known! He cradles you in the night and watches you while you sleep! (Psalm 139:17-19) He thinks lovely thoughts about you all the time! Another reason that God might not answer your prayer is because it isn't in his will. Being a Christian doesn't mean that everything in your life is perfect! Far from it! God promises many times when we will be persecuted for his name's sake. Even though, I am in love with the father of creation, and I know he has a stronger love for you and I then we will ever know! Bless you! Thank-You Jesus!

James said that you ask and receive not because you ask amiss desiring to consume it upon your own lusts. There are three answers to the kind of prayer you are evidently talking about - yes, no and wait. God ALWAYS answers prayer but you do not have an ear or heart to hear and receive. Literal physical mountains have been literally moved in our day by prayer - to allow a satellite signal for the Gospel to get through. But people "miss" such miracles because they have rejected the truth and refuse to believe and use other "rationalizations" though there is no other logical explanation for many things. Truth is about Faith - you either choose to believe Truth or you do not. "Proof" still requires faith because the evidence and proof can be right in front of you and you refuse to accept it. So as Joshua said Choose you this day whom you will serve, as for me and my house we will serve the LORD.

First, a statement. God does answer Every prayer. However, He does so in His time and in His way. More often than not it will not necessarily agree with what We Want. God is not our servant, we are His. And, it is our job to make the effort ourselves first, using his word as a guide for our actions. By the way...you just called me a liar. All of my prayers have been answered because my prayers are centered on that I might know and accept His will in my life.

God does not answer ALL prayers. If it is not His will. Sometimes we pray for something over and over again and feel like He is not listening or telling you no and actually He might intend to give you your request but is making you wait to teach you something (patience etc..). In the scripture above it all comes down to faith. God wants us to truly rely on Him for our needs. And I can tell you as someone who finally GETS IT .......that you are much happier when you do just that.
By the way...some of God's greatest gifts are un-answered prayers. He knows better than we do.

1. God HAS answered some VERY SPECIFIC prayers that I have asked him for. Email me if you want some examples.
2. Sometimes he doesn't answer my specific prayers. That could be for a few reasons: not his will, self-centered prayer, he is driving me deeper/to depend on him.
3. The only prayers God listens to are the prayers of people who want to honor him. If you have no desire to follow him and are thus living in direct opposition to him, then your selfish prayers will only make it as far as your breath. I have to remember this too...

i have had prayers answered and i know people that have also. you have to pray until something happens and you cant ask for anything selfish or silly. it has to be part of Gods will.but i can tell you that God answers your prayers but only if you have confessed all your sin and believe in HIm with all your heart. Any doubt in your mind- believing God will not answer your prayers...means you do not have faith, and your prayer will not be answered.

My gods answer all my prayers. Now sometimes I don't like the answer, but there's always an answer. I suspect it's like that with Christian's, too.
My point being, just because you don't get what you want - doesn't mean the prayer wasn't answered.

All of us ask in prayer for things that are not ultimately good for us or are self-serving. You must remember that sometimes, the thing for which you ask is denied but a better gift is given instead.
Personally, I have asked...in earnest and believing... 4 times in my memory and have received my request 4 times.
Your mileage may vary.

You don't know me, and you have no clue what I pray for.
BTW - God answers all prayer -
yes - no - wait.
His ways are not necessarily our ways.
We have to learn to pray in His will - He is not a Santa Claus in the Heavens that bestows upon us our every wish.
Parents in this life don't always give their kids everything they ask for - God in his Infinite Wisdom knows best.
