Looking for a cheap picture framer or someone who knows how to do it yourself in the Bay Area (near Milpitas/San Jose)...I have a 28x28 print that I need framed with a mat so frame size will have to be 32x32. Michael's quoted me $236, way over my budget. Tried art.com but $170-$200 is still over my budget...looking for anyone who can do it cheaper. Thanks!

If you're planning on a metal frame, at some frame shops you can ask for "chop service." They cut the matte, glass, and four frame pieces, and they provide all the connectors and wire, and you put it together. It's very easy after you've seen it done. You can find instructions on line. Here is one example: http://www.framing4yourself.com/metal%20mouldings.htm

I know you can also get chop service for wooden frames. They use special fasteners that are easy to install. But I've never done it myself, so I can't give any info.
