how do you know how much your speaker can take?

On of my house speakers is an 6". At half volume you hear bass but if turn it up some more it start to sound funny. It's like you hear the speaker it's self vibating. How much more till it blow out.!!

it should not be shaking like that be careful it may blow any day now

I wouldn't be surprised if you haven' t damaged it already. The voice coil attatched to the speaker can only travel so far before it bottoms out. Once it does that you've caused irreversable damage.
