I would gain so much more respect if people just admitted that they don't REALLY believe, but they're just in it for the community. That would make sense.

Get real, no one actually believes in deities or Gods and Goddesses.

It's just a pretty little lie that some people tell themselves so they don't have to hold themselves accountable in this life for their mistakes. If they had to look someone in the eyes and admit they were wrong, they'd never do it, but it's soooo easy to just say, "Sorry deity" and think it's all better, and to boot, their deity loves them and hates anyone who disagrees with them, and is going to make them live forever.

Yeaaaaaaaah.

I am a christian, I do not attend church, although I used to do. I am a believer that there is a god and do not have any problem with what you call him, whether it be Father, Allah, Jehova or what. He is the same God no matter which medium you pray through. All religions teach love for their fellow man and if all people followed this there would be no war in the world.

Some people do actually believe (like I do), but unfortunately or fortunately (you pick) there are a lot of people who claim to go to church for worship, but really go for the social outlet. However, you really asked two questions, not one. Believing in Christ doesn't require one to sit in a building every Sunday.

Hi,
I am a Christian. I believe in God, that he created the heavens & the earth & all living things. I believe his only begotten son Jesus died for our sins. I believe the bible whole heartedly.
Now, I currently do not attend church. I haven't found one in our new town that I am comfortable with. I believe that as long as I pray and keep a relationship w/ God, he still loves & will continue to bless me & my family.
As for Christians that attend church. I believe that they believe in their faith & that is why they attend. I cannot speak on whether there are people that attend church for deceitful reasons other than faith.
I just pray that every human being accepts God into their lives and repents their sins before the end comes.

Good thing no one thinks that you have any common sense. The proof is there when you pray. If you can't feel GOD, then perhaps you need to check your soul. You sound like an antichrist who wouldn't be able to hear GOD anyway because of your cold heart. That would be the thing most would believe. Thank you and may GOD guide you into the right direction.

whether it makes "sense" to you or not, the fact is that I KNOW God personally and I go to the place designated in His name, to gather with people of like faith to worship God together. It is a place of corporate blessing, a place of learning, a place to hear from God, a place to give God joy and a place of prayer and encouragement one for the other. And it is an act of obedience, for the Word says do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is, so much more as you see the day approaching. And YES I REALLY, TRULY, 1,000% BELIEVE in all that "stuff" as you put it. I am not after your "respect" I am after GOD'S HEART.

It is not church that makes my faith and I speak only for myself. It is my relationship with Christ and the fact that I do believe! Church for me is a place where I get fed spiritually. It also says in scripture "Do not forget the fellowship of one another". It is where we fellowship together because we need to be with those like us to help build one another up. Because we are in the world but not of the world. Therefore I have friends and family that are not believers and I live among them, eat among them, and I still have to be a witness to them as Christ was. So there are times we need to be around our family in God. This is our encouragement to one another.

If we wanted to do some social outing, we could just go to the movie theater. I believe everthing in the bible, and believe everything that God has told me. I don't think that you'll gain much respect, because most people who go to church actually believe what they are going to listen to. Bless you.

Yes I really believe this stuff. If it wasn't true, if Christ did not rise from the dead then I would not go to church because I cannot, in good conscience, follow something I knew was wrong.

Fact: Jesus, the Christ has risen from the dead.
This is a historical fact.
And because it is, because His way works, & because he is still involved in my life, I choose to follow Him.

Edit 1- Steve
I hate to say it but I have to agree with Steve here.

I am a believer. If you can't respect that, you have a problem, not me.

Whether or not I socialize through my church is totally irrelevant to my belief, although in my case I do not.
