I learnt this prayer over 20 years ago at school and still recite it to this day:
Lord, make me a better person,
More considerate to others,
More honest with myself,
More faithful to you,
Make me generous enough to sincerely do your will,
Whatever it may be,
Help me find my true vocation in life,
And grant that through it,
I may find happiness myself,
And bring happiness to others.

So what is your favourite prayer?

Saint Francis of Assisi....

Lord make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy;

Grant that i may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life...

also love the serenity prayer...

My favorite prayer is the one that comes straight for my heart with humbleness and gratitude for what the lord has done for me. It asks for nothing because God knows my needs and wants to fill the desire of my heart. It is a prayer of praise and worship usually led by the Holy Spirit It is then that the Lord is telling me to praise him and usually at times when I don't feel to great..

My favourite's the Prayer of St Francis too (see Wendy's answer). Learnt it in the form of a song in primary school and have loved it ever since.

'Can't say I always live it but it's how I'd love to be.

Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can and wisdom always to know the difference.

I'm not religious anymore but I still use this often.

--It is the prayer Jesus left as a model or standard of content , at Matthew 6. It contains the most important matters, in order of importance,that our prayers should center around, Please note:

(Matthew 6:6-13) . . .You, however, when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you. 7 But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. 8 So, do not make yourselves like them, for God YOUR Father knows what things YOU are needing before ever YOU ask him. 9 “YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. 11 Give us today our bread for this day; 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one."

--If we think on this prayer, especially the content "the Kingdom come....." --- we ask for God to remedy all the disgusting things that are taking place on earth--should be a vital concern for mankind today for we are asking Him and Christ to bring on Armaggedon, God's war against Satan and his worldly system.

Om Bhurbhuvaswah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyoyona Prajodayat

This is the Gayatri mantra of Hinuism in Sanskrit.
A rough translation is :

Oh God! Thou art the Giver of Life,
Remover of pain and sorrow,
The Bestower of happiness,
Oh! Creator of the Universe,
May we receive thy supreme sin-destroying light,
May Thou guide our intellect in the right direction.

Said to be one of the most powerful mantras.

Al Fatiha -

Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil alamin
Ar-rahman ir-rahiym
Maliki yawm id'deen
Iyakka na'budu wa iyakka nasta-een
Ihdinas sirat al-musta'qeem
Sirat al ladhrena an amta alayhim ghuyril maghdoobi alayhim wa ladh dhaleen

Amin

Translated:
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
The Beneficent, the Merciful.
Master of the Day of Judgment.
Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help.
Keep us on the right path.
The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray.

Amin
