my daughter rides the bus to preschool and home. the driver is getting quite cranky with me (like i tell her to get up and run around?) because my daughter unbuckles her seatbelt and gets up everytime they stop to let another child off. it just started on monday, and already the bus driver is making me crazy. i need some way to show my daughter that getting up is not allowed, or maybe something that'll keep her attention so she doesn't notice the bus is stopping. she's speech delayed, which makes it a little harder. any tips would be great. thanks

yes there is a helper on the bus. but the helper is the one getting the kids out of their seats to get off the bus, so i guess they can't go grab her everytime she gets up.
also, all the kids on the bus at this time of day are 2, and 3.

You may need to ride the bus with her for a few days and show her how you expect her to behave. But honestly, I think 3 years old is too young to be riding a bus. I know it may be the only option right now, but if it were me I would be trying to arrange it so that I or a family member or friend could take her to school. Also, ease up with the bus driver, she's just doing her job, the child has to stay in her seat and you have make her understand that.

maybe you should get the teacher to get ur child to seat next to her on the seat adn then she can pay closer attetion to her. and it wont be so easy for her to get up either.

and yes i don think that's kinda young for a child to be on a bus and they also have short attetion span as well and ur bus driver needs to realise that. i know he/she is only doing her job but if she just start this week then she shouldn't be nagging so much.

maybe u could give ur child a game or somthing to do on the bus with a friend. like a magntic travel game. like snakes adn ladder or checkers. ok ok she may not be able to play thouse games at her age but somthing along that line. leap frog or game boy then she can other play with a friend ot next to the teacher so she can't get away with things.

u could give her colouring stuff adn request that she makes u a pretty picture each day and each time she makes u a pretty picture she get a reward. that may help her to stay in her seat a little longer and u can let the teacher know so she can remind ur child to make u a pretty picture. and then when the child comes home ask for the picture, when she hands it to u give her a hug and maybe a little treat for doing as she's told. but only a small one. and then when she doesn't listen to the bus driver or teacher or make u a pretty picture then she doesn't get ur reward.

ok so this idea may not work cuz ur asking ur child to make u somthng each day. it may seem rude or somthing....kinda stupid too but it was an idea adn it may work for her age.

hope i helpred. even though some of my idea rn't that great.....

You can ask for a harness which is very safe, often used in the Early childhood population and will work! Put your request in writing and give it to the teacher.
