Yes go to the Kiddieland amusement section on the Santa Monica Pier they will love that I bet.......and while you are there you can go to the 3rd St. Promenade where they have these dinosaur/arbor things...they would love that too I bet..

My niece loves KidSpace in Pasadena and The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Usually The El Captian has a childrens movie playing with a live interactve show after.
There is also the Science Center in Los Angeles which is educational and really fun at the same time. They have a Star Wars exhibit going on right now.
And of course there is always Disneyland-always a good time for children and adults-but a bit pricey to get in.

You should really go see Venice Beach. They are a ton of performers doing a lot of crazy things. No one goes there to swim, just for the sights.
Also, Hollywood is always fun, and LA does have Disney Land.
