UK - I have a ford escort mk6 and one of the front calipers is sticking / siezing. Is it easy to repair the caliper rather than buy a new / reconditioned one? How can you service the piston as i assume this is what is sticking.

Ur car cannot be that old being a mk 6 so rust shouldnt be the prob. I have a feeling that the piston is fine unless the protector seals have perished letting water and dust etc which damages the piston and or the calipers cylinder. If on inspection the sel is undamaged check that the pads are not jamming up via the pins that secure the padsi n ,or are rusted up. Take pads out and clean pads pins etc with emery paper and use copper high melting point grease on back of pads.

trade your knackered one for a new one. its not worth paying for it to be repaired, you can get a good used one for 90 quid or so
