I have a page on my website about dog dental care and cleaning your dogs teeth. It may help.

The best and healthiest way is to find raw beef knucke bones or raw neck bones.

NEVER fed a cooked bone to your dog as they do not digest.

I've tried every so called teeth cleaning product out there and after facing a $400 tooth cleaning bill if I couldn't get the tarter off my dog's tooth I gave the raw bones a try.. 3 neck bones later and all teeth were gleaming white and that bad doggie breath was gone!

I'll take paying $10 a month in raw bones for my dogs b4 paying a $400 dental fee any day

There are lots of dog tooth brushes and pastes available for topical cleansings. For a deeper clean you can have a vet do it (requires anesthesia but the vets will pull back the gums and thoroughly clean the teeth) or provide lots of good things to chew. A raw diet and lots of good bones will keep your dogs teeth cleaned better than anything else.

At the pet store there are several products to choose from. We have always bought raw hides of some sort and that serves a couple of purposes. Play toy, clean teeth and strengthen teeth. We also get denta-bone toothbrushes that you give the dog and it cleans as they chew.

My dog wont let me near his mouth so once a year, he goes to the vet and gets a good teeth cleaning. The vet says his teeth look healthy. I feed him mostly dry food and the vet says that is good because eating the dry food helps scrape off the gunk off his teeth. Hope this helps!

The best way is to brush them. You could use a doggy toothbrush, or you can use a finger toothbrush. Just make sure you use toothpaste formulated for dogs. Human toothpaste and toothbrushes are not good for dogs. All the supplies you need are available in most pet supply stores and are fairly inexpensive.

I have actually seen dog breath mints at Target!

Anyway, you can brush dog's teeth with a regular toothbrush. Or, you can try different food. Also, in the dog treat isle are treats that have breath fresheners in them.

Ok they have these bones that you give your dog and they eat it and it cleans their teeth whiten and make their breath smell like it just had a mint! ( i forgot what they were called tho).

Brush them.

It might take two people to brush the dogs teeth at first. That is something very foreign to them and they are going to be quite lierry.
