who are we to judge that isn't our place so if they refer to themselves as a christian that would be between them and God,,, don't you think? each relationship is only between them and God ,, not them and the church and God, or the neighbor and God, or even yahoo answers and God. so if that is what they feel is between them and God ,, our opinion has no baring on that. remember in the bible when they were going to stone Mary Mag,,, didn't even Jesus tell them who so ever has been free of sin be the first to throw stone? there was no one we are all sinners only one that could have throw a stone was the Lord and he didn't ... so think about it when ,, we wonder about others relationships with the lord are we perfect? free of sin? no not now or ever will anyone be.

Actually, it simply depends on their interpretation of the Bible and the works/cases therein. The top spiritual leaders of today don't agree on this topic, even those who have in the past held similar interpretations of the same selected texts! Theres a big debate over wether many of the works within the Bible are against taboo acts of sexual spirituality, or homosexuality in general. It burns down to what you view as your authoritive text, and it's divinity, and what version and parts of the Bible and Hewbrew texts you accept as cannonical.

Wikipedia has done a pretty good job at showing all sides of this debate, and maintaining neutrality in its presentation. Just keep in mind, my source link might be vandalized and thus innacurate from time to time due to the volitile nature of this topic, so check the history page for potential abuse!

No, it is not different.

The question for all Christians is are you committing sin openly or are you troubled by your sins.

Yes it is possible for someone to be a Christian and struggle with a variety of sins such as Homosexuality. The most important thing is that they are struggling. If they are not struggling with their sin, but are content with it, then they need to be called on it. If they are still comfortable in their sin then they are not following Christ, but some other religion of their own choosing.

I was raised that all of the above are sins especially being gay. The thing with that is to be a bigger person and acknowledge that you know you are living foul and hopefully you will see the light and change your lifestyle whether it be lies, premarital sex, abortion or sexuality preference. Most gay folks do not feel their lifestyle is wrong so it just depends on how you view this. Ask any gay person if their lifestyle is wrong and they will all answer "NO", just an all around sensitive subject for some.

I used to have a black and white belief on this subject, now I am not so sure, after I found out that a friend of mine was a lesbian, I asked her if she was going to heaven and she gave the answer that a christian would, so the best answer that I can come up with is that we cannot say because only God knows and can judge a person's heart.

Thank the good Lord above that we can all be Christians without being sin free!

I am of the mind that church and the fellowship therein is a hospital for sinners, not a sitting room for the holier than thou.

I also believe that ours is a loving and benevolent God who is capable of hating the sin (whatever that might be) without hating the sinner.

Edit to post: Good GAWD...who brought all these Fred Phelps wanna-be's to the party?!

To be human is to be a sexual being. The sin would be in "fornication" or sex outside of marriage. That sin exists for both hetero- and homosexual people. God' scommand is that sex be reserved between a husband and wife; so a single person should not be sexually active, period. And a married person must remain "chaste."

homosexual acts are referred to by God in The Bible in the harshest terms. And they are sins... But a homosexual may, if they can bring themselves to, come to God in The Way He prescribes and they too may receive God's free gift of Salvation... just the same as any heterosexual may..... but they must come in The Way prescribed... not in some man invented doctrine that makes exceptions for homosexuals

A person's relationship with their maker is personal. No one here on living earth has a right to deny or question that. If you don't want gays to play in all the reindeer games in your churches, fine. Churches were created and built by mortal men, anyway. I question no one belief. If someone says they are buddhist, christian, or an atheist, who the hell am I to challenge that?

There's a profound difference between a single act and a lifestyle. If you're going to call yourself a Christian and yet live an openly gay lifestyle then there are several Scriptures you'll have to ignore or rationalize.
