I purchased MS Office Pro (legit software with product key and the whole enchilada) and installed it on my desktop and my laptop. I replaced my desktop (irreparably damaged and thrown away) and installed MSOP 2003 on the NEW desktop. I have used the software, but get a message that I have already installed it on 2 computers and that I can use it 46 more times.

Does that mean I can only open my programs 46 more times and it will quit working? Or I can only install it 46 more times?

Do I need to buy another copy? or can I go to MS and BUY another licensing agreement?

Is the cost the same as buying another program?

I should have stayed with Office 97!!!

You can install it again on your new desktop. However, you are going to have to contact tech support at Microsoft to provide you with a new product key. Explain to them what you have done with the old desktop machine it was on and they will provide you with the information you need to install on your new one. The reason is because the install and validation software for licensing takes some component info from your machine as a signature so that you cannot install the software at random anywhere. I know this works as I was involved with the MS Licensing Program in the past.

Read the license agreement that you agreed to when you installed the software. You should know that you can only install the software on 1 computer per license. As you probably have only 1 license, this warning message is indicating that you will not be able to use the software very much longer , or until you buy more licenses.
The fix would be to uninstall Office2003 on 1 of the computers, and install OpenOffice for free from http://openoffice.org
