I have to agree that the best is UCLA along with recommending Dr. Eric W. Fonkalsrud. Dr. Fonkalsrud did bowel surgery on my son at UCLA back in 1971 for Hurschsprungs Disease when he was 17 months old; he is now 37 yrs old! I don't think Dr. Fonkalsrud does actual surgery anymore; he is retired but remains a professor or consultant there, but the department there at UCLA can make a fine recommendation to a surgeon in your area. Is there a University of Mississippi hospital? They would have top surgeons there also. Good luck & you will have the best recommendation by asking UCLA who they recommend for your son. Dr. Fonkalsrud is a world reknown surgeon & the best pediatric surgeon.
