I think you should probably learn alittle about christianity before you, go and try to prove that GOD is sexist.
You make good points. but, you are slightly misguided.
to begin with the bible was written in a time period when men ruled and women were viewed as property. so of course everything in the bible is biased.
there are no rules that say women are inferior, I have personally attended churches where the pastor is a woman. and at the church i grew up in Woman were the ones doing everything. singing, playing piano, secretary, budgeting, teaching, planning, etc. (i grew up in a traditional southern baptist church).
and there are plenty of cases where god has spoken to women.
you should really do some research before you open your mouth.
it is obvious you don't what you are talking about.
YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

Good and thoughtful question Tucking!
As a woman let me answer you with what I believe to be the most reconciling answer to this conundrum:
A). We don't know for sure that God is a man or that God referred to himself as a man. God did not write the Bible but men did (women were usually not allowed the education to be able to read and write during this time.) Obviously, if you are a guy writing the Bible you are going to make yourself look good, right? At least I would. And Voila! God is a man. God cannot actually have a gender of course because he has no body. He is a spiritual entity, not a human one. And there are those who say "but he said that he created Adam in his image, that's the proof!". To that I say...translation is a you know what. We don't know what image God is referring to, but it doesn't necessarily have to be physical image. What about spiritual image, referring to the soul?
B). Jesus was a man (and not God himself, but part of the trinity that makes up God). This is well documented and the reasons for it are pragmatic. Again, around this time women had no power and were not allowed to speak publicly. It would not make much sense for God to send someone to Earth that no one would listen to, would it? Youw ouldnt' really get yoru message across...
C). It is important to remember that the Bible is an historical document that we Christians base our doctrine on. Many of the "facts" about women presented in the Bible are historical and therefore not relevant to today's society. We need to interpret the Bible with the grain of salt it deserves. No where does God say "this is how it is from now to eternity". Societies adapt and I'm sure if the Bible were written today we'd get a vastly different story.

You need to read your bible again, or for the first time, whatever, but it's like you found a pie pan with nothing but a crust in it and then said, "What's wrong with people, doesn't anyone know how to make a pie with some filling in it?" If you really want answers about God and you're not just trying to make a case against Him to satisfy your offended spirit, then present your questions to HIM and open your bible. He will address your questions far better than any christian could because unlike people, He will not be offended by your questions, rather, He appreciates those that do not believe in Him blindly, that is not what faith is. Even more so, God would appreciate your insightfulness that a perfect god would not prefer man over woman or vice versa.
P.S. Childbearing is not anything that is second rate or to be considered for the "lesser" to have to bear. Perhaps God knows more about the strength of women than He is given credit for. I personally consider my ability to bring forth another life from my womb an honor and a blessing, not a curse. And maybe you could think of men and women's roles in the bible like this- You see a really great movie that moves you. It was intense, you were on the edge of your seat, it even made you cry. But what moved you was what you visually saw and audibly heard. They didn't interupt each scene to say "Thanks to so-and-so in the special effects department, that intense scene was made possible" or "Thanks to our director, the actors were really able to portray the emotions in that scene." Maybe, just maybe, God knew what He was doing by putting women "behind the scenes" so-to-speak. Who knows what Abraham would have accomplished without Sarah? Or Noah without his wife?
God bless you dear!

The bible was written by men. Christianity is a patriarchal religion similar to most religions. Women in these religions are all held below the same level of respect, honor, and authority as men. In American society issues of wage, voting, basic rights, and privileges have trickled down from these beliefs. Look at the facts of there being no women presidents, popes, or major industry moguls being women. The founding fathers did not include them in the Constitution because of these man made laws promoted in the bible. God could be a woman for all that is known, which in reality is very very very little.

He doesn't, man prefers man
God did not right the bible, man wrote the bible
If the Bible was written by a women it would say she. Remember the bible was written when women had no say. Yet, if god was a woman it would be a lot easier to follow and praise her, if they described god as a beautiful women people would follow. It would also make more sense because women make life, love more, and cherish more then men. There is a large amount of of characteristics they portraits God as a women, if you described God as a regular person you would probly think it was a women, try it.

Read Genesis 1 and 2 agains sometime. God did not create man first. DOes not say that anywhere. Says he created Adam. Then he caused a sleep to full on Adam, and took from him the genetic material that became the woman. While that material was in Adam, he was neither male or female. He became male at the same time the female was created.
Paul's rule about women speaking in church was addressed to one particular church. If you read about that church (in Corinth), they were having problems with people getting drunk at the church potlucks (using the communion wine), a guy sleeping with his mother, and two women in particular interrupting the church services. It is those women - not all women - who Paul tells to shut up during the services and if they have any problems with the service to talk to their husbands about it at home.
The major of the time God speaks to people, it is to man, and is recorded by them for a simple reason. In the culture of that day, women where not taught to read or write. (God never told them not to teach women to read. It was a cultural thing, not a God rule). Had he talked to women, they could not have written it down. So the record we have come from the people who could write - the men.
Why is God referred to as "he"? Both the Hebrew and the Greek language are desgined so that every "thing" is referred to with a one of three genders, male, female, or "not living, so has no gender - it". Since God is "living", God has to be either male or female. In both languages, the default is "male". So that is what is used. Same is true of the English language. If someones gender is unknown, it is always referred to as "male".
Assuming that gender even applies to God, he has to be either male or female. Being male does not mean he hates women or sees them as second class. It appears from your question that you are male. Does that automatically mean you see women as second class? Your reasoning on that arguement (God is male so he hates females) is faulty.
Besides, when God did appear in human form, it was as a male (Jesus).
So I am not seeing anything in the Bible examples you mentioned that state (or even impy) that God prefers men over women. According to the scriptures, "there is neither male or female in Christ". The scriptures clearly state that he does love each equally.

God doesn't favor man over women. Think about the authors of the Bible, all men.God rightfully influenced the Bible and man made a contradiction of it. Leave it up to men to to put the wrong spin on things.

i do not trust that God prefers adult men over women human beings, i imagine he's used as a wide-spread time period for someone who will be both descried as someone human beings. who's to say that God used those words to describe himself and not at all others. yet another question if God became specially considered as a women human beings would one of those huge quantity of human beings trust in him, ought to maximum individuals trust that a women human beings became able to a lot? i imagine many human beings pick to make sure him as a guy, a father discern because adult men are the further helpful species.

You have to understand... when man first created Christianity, most religion was goddess centered, or multideity centered. Men were probably feeling a bit neglected.
So, they created a religion where they can be the top dog and control the women around them.
THAT is why its so male centric.

No one knows what the Divine prefers, they, the ruling men with massive inferiority complexes, just like to think they know they are the preferred one, and are willing to punish or kill people who do not agree with their view.
"Don't give me that God loves everyone equal nonsense when's it's obvious He doesn't." ------------- And you know this how? OH! That's right, you must be one of those guys I mentioned earlier.
"God" was talking to Joan D'Ark about childbearing?
