If he has bought the phone then I personally would assume he would be paying the bills. If that was the case then I wouldnt make extra calls on it other than necessary ones.

ummm. i would say yes that's like inviting someone to go out to see a movie or hang out and ask them to pay. if he volunteered his services buying you a phone he should volunteer to pay the bill as well
