Advil won't hurt your liver at recommended dosages - you're thinking of Tylenol, even a small overdose of which CAN be harmful to your liver. As long as you're generally healthy, and since you seldom drink, you don't need to be concerned about it; most of the things that can go wrong with your liver simply aren't within your control to prevent. If you have a genetic problem that would predispose you to a problem, then you can't change that; if you eat a balanced, healthy diet, you should be fine.
I'd say, on the whole, that anxiety would be FAR more harmful to your liver (not to mention the rest of you) than the medication to combat the anxiety.

You've already been given very, very good advice with the exception of "smp 1969". I hope you'll take it. I doubt there's any justification for your doctor to order liver function tests at this point. If you require it, your doctor will order them periodically to monitor liver function. And I agree that's it more difficult to answer your question about your anxiolytic because you didn't state what it is.
There are a lot of herbal preparations available that claim to increase liver health. Don't waste your money or time on these. Your liver regenerates and can take a lot. The damage from things such as alcohol or acetaminophen is either from an overdose or is cumulative from chronic, long-term use. Understand? You can take Advil (ibuprofen) for pain. It won't harm your liver...it can cause acute renal failure in those with renal disease and is contraindicated in those with hepatic disease. You most likely have neither.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet and take your anxiolytic with confidence.

Not all medications cause liver damage. And even when they do, well, that's what your liver is for. It takes the toxic hits so your other organs don't have to.
Without knowing precisely what medication you're taking, it's impossible to say whether or not you can expect any liver damage.

The liver is the body's filter. Your doctor should have tested your liver function to estimate if it is functioning properly and will not be over-taxed by the addition of this medication to your system. I don't know if I would trust a physician who would give you medication, esp. something that can potentially be addictive without taking all of the necessary precautions.

All natural Liver DTX Complex is a botanical blend which promotes liver health. Plant-based healers such as milk thistle seed extract, dandelion, and turmeric help flush out toxins, thwart free radicals, and support liver regeneration.
Also, you might want to consider all natural Moodlift Complex for the anxiety. It contains St. John's Wort, Eleutherococcus Senticosus & Green Oats. It promotes relaxation, relieves anxiety and nervous disorders.
Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.
