Studying it and really hearing and understanding it are two completely different things. Chances are although you were "raised a Christian" you never truly have been saved. Glad you took a year to study, but did you at all attempt to apply it's words to your life? I was "raised a Christian" also, I claimed the name, but as I got older...I went off in my own direction. It wasn't until I was faced with a very life changing situation, that I truly accepted Christ, that I truly saw how undeserving of His love I am, how much he has done for me and how little I have done for Him. I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be. I do know however, that we all go through our stages of disbelief, we have to come to the understanding of who Christ Jesus is on our own. Nobody can decide for you. So am I saying it is right or wrong? I refuse to answer that question, because if you even need to ask it...I think you already know the answer. Maybe you should talk to your parents about it. After all, they raised you, and they love you a lot more than people on Yahoo! Answers who have never even met you. Good Luck!

What you believe is not under your control and is therefore not wrong or right by definition.
How you arrived at the "truth" you are believing, however, is very important.
If you are stopping believing in the bible because of the large number of ignorant people that you see also believing in the bible, that is NOT a good reason to do so.
If you discovered something in the Bible that you simply cannot accept, that may be okay.
I would like to urge you to continue seeking the truth, and to give your faith a chance to keep you believing, as the value of a spiritual lifestyle is immeasurable... and though sometimes the words and logic on the pages don't seem to add up, most of the message is intact if you READ IT YOURSELF.
Good luck and God Bless.

Shouldn't there be a distinction between not believing and having questions?
If so, isn't there hope for those that are wrestling with speciific concepts?
One thing that has been helpful to questioners (that's me much of the time) is to put into practice whatever is clear even while sorting out another issue.

its a great story with some great messages about life to contemplate and integrate.
it is not infallible (neither is the pope - sorry Benedict you are human)
take on what works, leave the rest. if your intention is a win/win outcome, trust your actions.
did you have a hard time believing that robin hood really existed or not, or did you simply experience the story and take on some principles and aspects of friendship that works.

Depends on who you talk to. Some one who believes in god is going to say yes it is wrong and you should never stop believing. Someone who does not believe in God is going to say it is okay. Look religion is a choice and a beliefe. No one can tell you if it is right or wrong for you.

If you've taken time to consider the matter and honest intellectual inquiry has led you to stop believing in the Bible, then I think it's important that you have the courage to acknowledge that. To do anything else would amount to lying.

Why did you stop believing?
With all the confusion in the world about the Bible I can certainly understand why people stop believing but it does contain the true words of God. You must, however, read the Bible with a prayerful heart seeking for God's understanding in order for you to find all the truth contained therein.

Being a fulfilled spiritual person has nothing to do with a single book. Find God within yourself and the way in which you connect to the universe. God can be reached directly, He doesn't need any middle men.
