No... and don't believe the revisionists. The Japs were preparing the people to fight to the last person and millions of Japs and Americans and all the others would have died in an invasion of the home islands.

Not at all, they were going to fight to the last man and use suicide attacks (Kamikazes) if necessary. They strongly believed in the war they were fighting, the atom bomb seemed the only way to bring about a quick victory.

no they were not ready to surrender. they were prepared to just fight as a resistance. the reason we dropped the bombs were to save lives. there would of been alot more deaths if the war continued
