I have until Mar 31 to fit into my prom dress that fit when i bought it last month, but now is 1 size to small. I've been trying the Low-Carn diet, but it hasn't been working. I've also had a knee injury within the last month, so running, extensive walking, and elliptical training aren't completely out of the question, but I'm worried about the effectiveness of the limited activity. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

You can do it. You shouldn't have to lose more than 10 pounds to drop one dress size. Consider replacing your lunch with a light protein shake or some kind of nutrition bar. I ate zone bars for lunch several days a week. It saved me money and I lost about 10 pounds over the course of a few months or so. Calculate your basal metabolic rate to determine the amount of calories you need at rest and then you will know how many less to lose weight; either by burning calories through exercise or a change in eating habits.

You should try to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day. Any activity that you're able to do is good even if it's only 30 min a day.

there are other activities such as swimming that wouldn't be so harsh on your knee. As for the diet part, i would suggest cutting out junk foods and adding fruits and veggies for snacks and meals. I was on a diet for 6 months and i lost 79 lbs. good luck!

I just hope that since you have hurt your knee that you are not going to the fridge because you are bored. Boredom eating is the biggest factor in gaining weight. Find something to do with your free time, cross stitch, build models, redecorate, anything. As for exercise, there is Pilate's, yoga, and other non-impact exercises.

Good luck.
