During kidney failure, your kidneys can't filter out the fluid that a healthy organ can, leading to fluid collecting in the body. You need to talk to your doctor to see what they suggest, as there are many different diseases as their are treatments!

It depends on the kind of kidney disease you have, Glomerular, Interstitial or Tubular. You need to talk to your doctor. Glomerualnephritis is the more common chronic kidney problem and limited water intake is frequently recommended because the kidney is not able to remove it and leads to fluid overload and possible complications..

You pretty much can drink the same amount, just limit soduim and protein. At least that what the told me when I had nephritis. A kidney problem. They are still monitoring my kidneys now 2 years later. Good luck.
