Split ends can be caused by all sorts of problems but the most common are heat damage and over-processing through colour or other chemical treatment. However, some people just have weak hair. Weak hair can be strengthened from the inside out by eating a good diet and taking vitamin supplements. There are a few things you can do to keep them at bay. Make sure you have your hair cut or at least trimmed every six weeks. Your hair is most brittle when it is wet so shampoo gently massaging the head to stimulate growth and strong hair. Avoid brushing the hair when it is wet. Buy good quality products designed for damaged and weak hair. Some of the best products can be purchased from a hair salon and although they cost you, they really are superior products and a little does go a long way. Apply heat protection whenever you do blow-dry or straighten and a leave-in product after washing the hair designed to strengthen hair can also help. Finally, you can buy a sealant to help repair split ends which you apply directly to the ends of the hair and this helps as long as the hair isn't too split up the hair shaft.
Your hair will be strong in no time! Good luck!

Split ends could be caused from dry hair or by the way it was cut, it could be caused from an unbalanced nutrition etc. Many things can cause split ends. You could try deep conditioning it. I recommend Cholesterol Conditioning, Beer, or even Mayonnaise. You would was your hair with a shampoo typically with a shampoo specifically for dry or split ends than once you wash that out your would apply either of the conditioners. Let it sit...the longer the better...You may even want to sit under a hair dryer if possible...After a few hours (if you have that long) than you wash that out and towel dry... After a few tries you should see a difference...Not Right Away...let your hair grow out a little before you let any one else cut it and just because they cut it in a style doesn't mean they used the correct cutting techniques, You may want to try letting someone else cut who you know for sure knows what they are doing.

I get split ends even though I don't blow dry or straighten my hair. I have fine hair which is notorious for splitting, maybe that is your hair type? I know conditioner makes a difference on my hair, make sure you use a conditioner after you shampoo.

split ends tend to occur more often with dry hair or hair that needs to be groomed. if you've just cut your hair, you shouldn't have any split ends, so perhaps your hair is dry. there are loads of products on the market for dry hair, and you can also try using oil and leaving it on for about 30 or 20mins before shampooing. Good luck!

It could be the weather thats causing your split ends,, and there is no way to treat them except getting your hair cut (which you already have!)

constant use of heated appliances and too much sun will dry out your hair.
Only way to get rid of split ends is to have them cut off. these shampoos claiming to repair split ends are crap.
to prevent split ends keep your hair conditioned and avoid over use of heating tongs etc.

I have my hair trimmed every six weeks to avoid that problem. If you just got your hair cut, mabe the stylist should have taken off at least an inch to get rid of all of them. You may want to revisit your salon.

Try using a product to help split ends. And if you wash it too much that can cause it.
